Choco Chip cookies...the very mention of it can draw up some mouth-watering images…isn’t it your favourite…? I hear a loud echo, 'YES'!!! I am sure you guys agree…
From the time the importance of a husband in a relationship dawned on to me, must confess – I always fantasized marrying a baker…the whole idea of feasting on breads, cakes and cookies was just so romantic..!! Recently, I met my hubby’s friend who runs a bakery and he was candid that it’s an absolute bore being a baker (I told myself - who cares about the job, I just want to be around the yummy baked stuff).
It’s been quite some time since I baked. I’ve made these cookies before…try this and I bet, will be a perfect snack to satisfy your cookie and chocolate craving. Let’s get started,
Preparation time: 25 minutes
Baking time: 40 minutes
Makes: Approx 20- 24 cookies
You need:
1 heaped cup flour (maida)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup demerara sugar (brown sugar)
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Step-by-step:
Pre-heat oven to 2000C degrees for 10 minutes
Sift the flour and baking soda thrice
In a large bowl, mix granulated sugar, demerara sugar, butter and vanilla essence
Add the flour mixture and mix well
Add the chocolate chips and mix again
Make small cookie balls, flatten a little and place on an ungreased baking sheet (give at least an inch of space between each of the cookies 'cos they'll grow in size as they get baked)
Bake in batches for approximately 9-10 mins each (by now you should be seeing your neighbours at your doorstep....obviously, it's smelling better outside)
Allow them to cool completely before removing from the baking sheets (or the paper will stick to the cookie)
Enjoy a handful of these divine, crispy, and chocolatey cookies with a cup full of cold milk… I bet your kiddo will not be fussy anymore!!
